An Omaha man is dead following a Tuesday morning crash.
Omaha Police say at 10:45, officers were called to the scene near 35th and L. Investigators say a semi truck and trailer was turning from eastbound L St onto 35th St when a westbound Yamaha motorcycle, driven by 20 year old Andy Mendoza, attempted to avoid the semi. Police say the Yamaha crossed into eastbound lanes and was struck by an eastbound 2017 Dodge mini-van.
OPD says Mendoza was transported to Nebraska Medicine with life saving measures in progress, but died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
