A Plea Is Made In SW Metro Business Explosion And Fire Case

A "no contest" plea is entered in court by Michael McKernan, who was accused of blowing up his own Sarpy County business.

McKernan was charged with second-degree arson and burning to defraud an insurer for the explosion and fire at "Wardrobe Spa" near 168th and Harrison Streets in October 2018.

Investigators say McKernan drilled holes into gas lines, which led to the blast.

He will be sentenced in December.
