Omaha Public Library reopening three more branches

The Omaha Public Library is reopening more of its branches next week.

OPL says on Monday, September 28th the A.V. Sorensen, Benson and Florence branches will all reopen at 9:00 AM.

OPL closed all of their branches on March 16 in an effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, and remained closed due to City of Omaha budget concerns. Following the approval of CARES Act funding by the state and county, Mayor Jean Stothert announced on August 25th that libraries may reopen.

Five branches opened on September 21st: Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch, Charles B. Washington Branch, Millard Branch, Milton R. Abrahams Branch, and Willa Cather Branch.

OPL branches will be open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM -7:00 PM and Friday & Saturday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The Abrahams and Millard branch locations are offering Sunday hours from 1:00 - 5:00 PM. Once the W. Dale Clark Main Library reopens, it will also offer Sunday hours.

Masks will be required for all OPL visitors until further notice. Complete information is available at omahalibrary.org.
