With Football Coming Up, Husker Players Get Out Of The Legal Arena

A lawsuit filed by eight Nebraska football players against the Big Ten Conference has now been dropped after the conference announced it will proceed with a 2020 Fall pigskin season.

According to a statement from the players, attorneys were instructed to go ahead and dismiss the lawsuit, originally filed last month.

The student-athletes were represented by attorney Mike Flood of the "Jewell & Collins" firm in Norfolk.

The lawsuit sought nominal damages for breach of contract, a declaration the cancellation decision was invalid and the awarding of temporary injunctive relief.
