The Father Of Scott Frost, A Former Husker Player Himself, Passes Away

Scott Frost's brother Steve announced the passing of their father on Facebook Wednesday night: “Today, my good father Larry Frost went home to be with the Good Father and his Son. We love you, Dad,’’ Steve Frost wrote.

Like Scott Frost, Larry Frost played football for Nebraska and is in the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame for his athletic career at Malcolm, Nebraska High School.

After growing up almost in the shadow of Nebraska Memorial Stadium on a northwest Lancaster County farm, Larry Frost became a solid wingback for the Cornhuskers of Bob Devaney in the late 1960's.

By the end of his Senior year, NU was one of the best teams in the nation, winning a Big 8 Championship, defeating Georgia in the Sun Bowl, and setting the stage for Nebraska National Championships the next two seasons.

After college, Larry Frost went on to a long high school football coaching career, which included coaching his sons.
