In June of this year, Omaha Police say officers took a report of a sexual assault of a minor that was reported as happening in 2014.
Investigators say based on the evidence provided, an arrest warrant for 26-year old David Mitchell was issued for the sexual assault of a minor.
Officers located Mitchell Tuesday and booked him into Douglas County Corrections for 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Minor, and Bond Review.
Mitchell was out on bond for a burglary charge from 2019.
Mitchell is a candidate for a seat on the Omaha City Council.
