A "GoFundMe" account for the family of fallen Lincoln Police Investigator Mario Herrera already contained more than 126-thousand-dollars as of late Monday night.
A fund has also been created at all "Liberty First Credit Unions" for donations.
Herrera died early Monday morning, nearly two weeks after he was shot in the line of duty trying to serve a warrant in a homicide investigation.
Herrera was a 23-year-veteran of the Lincoln Police Department and leaves behind his wife and four children.
A memorial has been placed outside the Hall of Justice at 575 S. 10th Street in Lincoln.
Due to COVID-19, LPD asks that people avoid going to the station.
