On Facebook, the daughter of Chuck Sigerson says her Father passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday morning.
He had suffered a heart attack and stroke in 2010, which forced him to step down from the city council, and he had battled health issues since then.
Sigerson served three terms on the Omaha City Council and was a chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party and leader of Douglas County Republicans during his many years of service to the GOP.
