As Omaha gets ready to have a new waste collection company take over this Fall, the city is starting to distribute new trash bins.

The City of Omaha will be switching over to FCC Environmental for waste management at the end of November, which brings a whole new way of collecting trash and recycling. On Thursday, Mayor Jean Stothert gave an update on the new waste collection service saying that the carts will be distributed beginning Monday. She says although households will begin seeing the new carts soon, she's urging people not to use them until November 30th.

Waste Management is still collecting trash until FCC begins, meaning they will not collect waste if it’s in the new carts before November 30th.

There will be 38,000 carts distributed per day until November 30th.
