Investigations Continue After Violent Pre-Dawn Sunday In Omaha

Omaha Police continue to look into a weekend homicide.

Early Sunday, police responded to a shooting near 24th and Binney Streets, where they found 37-year old Larry Johnson Jr.

Johnson was declared dead at the hospital.

Omaha Police also continue investigations into four other separate shootings between 1:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Sunday. The victims suffered non - life threatening injuries.

Officers were sent to "CHI Health Creighton Hospital" after a person walked in with a gunshot wound. Investigators learned the 16-year old was shot near 13th and Martha Streets.

Officers went to the same medical facility for another walk-in shooting victim. The 27 year old said he was wounded near 24th and Lake Streets.

Officers rushed to the area of 34th and Laurel Avenue after the "Shotspotter" technology indicated gunfire. Police found a 35-year-old man, who was hospitalized for injuries determined to be serious, but not life-threatening.

Another shooting was near 34th and Bedford Avenue. An 18-year-old told police she was near 43rd and Ohio Streets, when she heard gunfire and realized she had been hit.
