Nebraska State Senators Pass Property Tax Relief Bill

On the last day of the coronavirus-interrupted session, the Nebraska Legislature passes a property tax relief bill.

The Governor will sign LB 1107, calling it "generational."

Opponents say the measure limits flexibility in dealing with other issues.

Your property tax bill will look the same next year, but the plan includes an income tax credit based on how much a property owner pays to schools.

Businesses also have new tax incentives under the bill, and there's a state commitment of 300-million dollars toward UNMC's "Next Project," a 2-billion dollar U.S. disaster center envisioned on the Omaha campus.
