Council Bluffs man stabbed during early morning altercation

A Council Bluffs man is behind bars following an early morning stabbing.

Council Bluffs Police say officers were called to the 35-hundred block of 5th Avenue just before 5:45 Monday morning for a reported stabbing. Police say when officers arrived on the scene, they located 37 year old Anthony Carman suffering from a deep stab wound to his abdomen. Investigators say before being transported to the hospital, Carman told officers that he and 55 year old Troy Finley had gotten into an altercation in which Finley stabbed Carman before fleeing the scene.

Investigators say just before 10:00 Monday morning, officer spotted Finley riding a bicycle near 30th Street and West Broadway. Police say Finley refused to stop for the officer and attempted to flee. Police say the officer deployed their K-9 partner, who was able to catch Finley. Finley was take to the hospital for treatment for a dog bite and was then booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail.

Finley is facing a number of charges including Willful Injury, Possession of Methamphetamine, Drug Paraphernalia, Eluding and Interference with Official Acts. Carman is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
