Man arrested on multiple charges following string of burglaries and thefts

A 25 year old man is behind bars on a number of charges following a string of thefts and burglaries.

According to an Omaha Police media release, earlier this month their Burglary Unit got tips about a man who was possibly involved in fraud activity at local stores. OPD say detectives worked with multiple stores and personnel from the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles Fraud Unit to identify Robert Stubblefield as their suspect. Police say Stubblefield already had a felony arrest warrant out of Lancaster County and was also believed to be stealing property from vehicles and residences in Omaha.

Investigators say around 11:45 Wednesday morning, detectives got a tip that Stubblefield was at Westroads Mall. According to the release, officers attempted to make contact with Stubblefield and, following a foot pursuit, took him into custody. Police say several items that had been stolen during multiple thefts and burglaries in Omaha were recovered, along with a firearm.

Stubblefield was booked for the following offenses:

  • Possession of a firearm by a Prohibited Person
  • Obstructing a Police Officer
  • Reckless Driving
  • 2 counts of Receiving Stolen Items
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking
  • 3 counts of Criminal Trespassing

Police say some of these charges are related to cases that were already under investigation by detectives, while other charges are related to actions that occurred when Stubblefield was found by police.
