Douglas County Health Department to hold press conference on mask mandate

The Douglas County Health Department will hold a press conference Friday morning to address a possible mask mandate for Omaha and Douglas County.

The press conference will be headed up by County Health Director Dr. Adi Pour, who indicated last week that she would like to put a mandate in place for the City of Omaha due to the continued increase in COVID-19 cases in the metro. Earlier this week, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to support a mask mandate if Dr. Pour were to put one in place.

Also expected at Friday's press conference will be Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert, Nebraska's Chief Medical Officer and Director of Public Health Dr. Gary Antone, UNMC Infectious Diseases Chief Dr. Mark Rupp, UNMC's Assistant Vice Chancellors for Inter-professional Health Security Training and Education Dr. John Lowe and Dr. Kari Neemann.
