There will be no more swimming, water slides or rides at Fun-Plex this summer. Managers of the popular amusement park near 72nd and Q announced on Facebook today that they have made the difficult decision to cancel the rest of the season beginning Tuesday.
They say decision was made due to a rise in COVID-19 cases and for the well-being of the staff, guests and the community.
"For over 40 years, we have been committed to providing safe summer fun. It is with this commitment in mind that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of our 2020 season, effective July 28, 2020," the post states.
"We believe it is the most responsible decision to end our season early. We are so proud of our staff for everything they have done to make this summer possible. While this decision was not made lightly, we are already looking forward to another amazing summer in 2021."
