Florida Teen Killed In Nebraska Crash

A teenager is dead following a crash in Cass County, Nebraska. It happened Monday at Highway 63 and Church Road south of Greenwood.

The Cass County Sheriff’s office says a 17-year-old girl was driving westbound on Church Road in a 2013 Land Rover when witnesses say she failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by a southbound semi.

Investigators say the force of the crash split the Land Rover in two.  A rear seat passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Davie, Florida, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The other passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Aventura, Florida, suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. 

The driver was airlifted to Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln.  The driver of the semi was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln for treatme
