The Douglas County Board of Health passed a resolution Monday morning supporting a face mask mandate.
The resolution gives the Douglas County health director the authority to issue a mandate. It would require people over the age of 5 to wear a mask indoors and in public if 6 feet of social distance is not possible.
Dr. Adi Pour alluded to the support of a mask mandate during Monday morning's meeting, but has not made it official yet.
Pour says she received many emails over the weekend. She said about 30% were against a mask mandate, 60% were for it and 10% had questions.
Prior to the vote, people on both sides of the issues addressed the board.
