Benson Area Fire Is Ruled Accidental In Nature

Omaha Fire investigators say "improper use of fireworks too close to ordinary combustibles" caused a house fire in the Benson area late Tuesday night.

The house is on 56th St., north of the Northwest Radial Highway.

When firefighters pulled up around 11:30 p.m., they saw smoke and flames at the rear of the place, and there was an early report of people trapped.

But, the fire department says one person got out safely, and no injuries were reported in the fire that took about a half hour to control.
