Lincoln Police say registered sex offender broke into three woman's homes

Lincoln Police say a registered sex offender is behind bars, accused of breaking into multiple women's homes.

Police say 32 year old Adris Khalaf was arrested last year for sexual assault after a victim reported that he grabbed her breasts and digitally penetrated her. Khalaf was found guilty and was released with time served on January 13th of this year.

Investigators say just before 7:00 Tuesday morning, officers were called to a home in the 200 block of North 44th Street for a report of trespassing. The 24 year old female victim told officers that a man, later identified as Khalaf, had entered her apartment and was standing at the foot of her bed while she slept. She told investigators that when she woke up, he began making sexual comments and rubbing her shoulders.

LPD says just before 6:00 Tuesday night, officers were called to another trespassing call at an apartment complex in the 300 block of South 90th Street. Once on the scene, investigators say officers found Khalaf hiding in a trash room. They say he was unable to provide an explanation for why he was in a trash room at an apartment complex where he does not live. Officers arrested Khalaf for Criminal Trespass.

Police say again on Wednesday, just before 7:00 AM, officers were called to the 1600 block of Sawyer Street on a report of someone trespassing. At the scene, the 31 year old female victim told officers that she woke up to a person, again later identified as Khalaf, turning her bedroom lights on. She reported that when she told him to leave, he put on his shoes, that he’d taken off by the door, and left. The victim told investigators that after he left, she was unable to find a spare key that she keeps in case she locks herself out of her house. Officers found Khalaf a short distance away, and the victim identified him as the person she saw inside her house.

Khalaf was arrested on two counts of Burglary: one for the incident on the July 14th in the 200 block of North 44th Street and one for the incident on July 15th in the 1600 block of Sawyer Street.

Lincoln Police say it is possible that there are other victims connected to this string of incidents who have not made a report to them. They encourage anyone with information about these break-ins or with information about additional, possibly unreported break-ins, to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000.
