Man In Hospital After Crashing Stolen Pickup In West Omaha

An Omaha man awoke to the sound of his truck alarm going off around 4:30 Wednesday morning and found someone in the front seat outside his home near 47th and Maple.

When he confronted him, police say the man took off. Just after 6:00 a.m. the stolen pickup truck crashed near 108th and W. Maple.

Investigators say the man in the driver's seat struck a traffic signal, went down the grass embankment, struck a wooden power pole and rolled. 26 year old Cody Matejka was thrown from the truck and taken to the hospital with serious chest injuries.

Police say several charges are pending.
