Nebraska Man Recovering After Firework Explodes In His Hand

An Exeter man continues to recover after suffering serious injuries to his hands at the Branched Oak State Recreation area after a firework exploded in his hands.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says around 10:20 p.m. Friday the 34 year old man tried to discharge a “mortar-style firework” while holding it near his chest. He suffered serious injuries to his chest, arms and hands.

The unidentified man was taken by rescue squad to Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln for treatment.
