An Omaha woman goes from a hospital room to a jail cell, accused of causing a fatal crash last week.
Omaha Police say 38 year old Chinyere Nwuju was driving at high speeds when she ran a red light causing a double fatal crash at 90th and Maple Streets.
Nwuju was in the hospital being treated for injuries from the wreck.
The force of the collision cut a pickup in half, police said. Nwuju’s Nitro kept traveling south where it hit a Jeep Renegade.
The driver and passenger of the Dodge Ram pickup were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
