Douglas County COVID-19 death toll now tops 75

The Douglas County Health Department is reporting four more COVID-19 related deaths on Friday.

The Health Department says the county's most recent coronavirus-related deaths are a man in his 40's and a man and two women over 75 years old. The total number of deaths linked to the pandemic in Douglas County now is 76.

DCHD also reported 102 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in Douglas County to 6,240 from this outbreak. They say 2,240 county residents have recovered from the illness.

As of Friday morning, metro area hospitals reported having 344 medical and surgical beds available for a 75% occupancy rate with 104 patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 367 ventilators available to area hospitals, 116 were in use, including 28 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
