Metro Area Power Crews Work to Finish Restorations After Storms

There have been long hours for electrical utility crews on both sides of the Missouri after thunderstorms and high winds moved through starting Tuesday night.

The Omaha Public Power District continues restoration work on scattered power outages after a peak of more than 8,300 at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The utility reports troubleshooters and line techs found tree damage and some downed power lines.

All circuits were restored overnight, leaving more time-intensive, house-to-house jobs in Douglas and Sarpy Counties.

"Midamerican Energy" crews have been doing the same thing in Council Bluffs.
