Prairie Flower Casino set to reopen on Monday

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska says their Prairie Flower Casino in Carter Lake will reopen on June 1st. The casino was closed amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Prairie Flower will open at 10:00 AM on Monday. The Tribe says the opening comes after they and Prairie Flower Casino management implemented changes at the casino to protect guests’ health and safety.

Health safeguards at Prairie Flower Casino include:

  1. Limiting operations to 50 percent of total gaming positions in order to encourage social distancing
  2. Temperature checks of all individuals (guests, employees, vendors, etc.), before entering the casino building, are required
  3. An approved facemask is required to be worn by all individuals
  4. Temporary 100 percent smoke-free environment with no smoking or vaping allowed inside the casino
  5. Hand sanitation stations locations inside the casino were increased
  6. Individuals are encouraged to wash their hands at newly installed hand-washing stations before entering the casino
  7. Social distancing is encouraged by removing tables and chairs from the restaurant area, closing self-serve beverage stations and temporarily deactivating selected gaming positions
  8. Enhanced cleaning measures were implemented in high-touch and high-traffic areas
  9. All surfaces are sanitized at regular intervals and deep cleaned nightly

As an additional safety measure,The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, Ponca Health Services (PHS) will frequently inspect the Prairie Flower Casino to ensure the casino is meeting and exceeding CDC health safety guidelines. This includes:

  1. Reviewing temperature exception logs (employee, patron, and vendor)
  2. Checking sanitation of building, equipment, and facilities
  3. Inspecting food and beverage areas
  4. Spot checking guest casino admission procedures
  5. Assessing social distancing practices
