Omaha Barbershop Targeted By Vandals A Third Time

Now that barbershops have reopened one owner worries that it's not the coronavirus hurting his business.

Vandals first busted the windows of Arlan Peak's barbershop in early April, then struck again a week later and then again Tuesday morning.

This time the owner got the suspect on security video. “I’ve watched this over and over again. This gentleman has rage,” Peak told 6 News.

For nine years Peak has been cutting hair at his Midtown Crossing location. He’s wondering if other businesses could be next. Around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday someone walked up to Peak’s storefront windows and broke out four in a row.

“Looks like he has a hammer of some sort,” Peak tells 6 News. “Three times. Three times in a month. In a month. And we’re talking $800 a window.”

Peak says he does not recognize the man. “He dresses real nice, you can tell he’s not homeless,” he says. “I think it’s either someone singling me out or someone that’s enjoying themselves or someone is paying them. I don’t know.”

When Omaha Police officers arrived a few minutes later, the suspect was gone. But Peak is hoping anyone who recognizes the vandal will call Omaha Police or CrimeStoppers at 444-STOP.
