A fifth Nebraska Department of Correctional Services employee has tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus.
On Tuesday, NDCS Director Scott Frakes said that the staff member is employed at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. The individual is self-isolating at home, while a notification will be provided to the facility regarding the new case.
NDCS says anyone who may have had close contact with the employee in the last 72 hours will be directed to self-quarantine until they are cleared to return to work by a medical provider.
There have been five NDCS employees to test positive since April 4th. No inmates have tested positive for COVID-19.
