COVID-19 coronavirus cases in Douglas County have topped 600.
On Thursday, the Health Department confirmed 73 new cases of coronavirus in Douglas County. That brings the total number of cases in the county to 609 since the start of the outbreak. The age range of the newest cases is from 4 years old to 65 years of age. The health department says they are unaware of any hospitalizations from these latest cases.
As of Wednesday night, local hospitals reported that 537 medical surge beds were available and that 52 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Another 62 people are currently hospitalized and suspected of having the disease.
Of the 348 ventilators available to area hospitals, 99 were in use, including 16 for confirmed COVID-19 patients. Seventy people are confirmed to have recovered from the illness in the county.
