Multi-State Pursuit Ends with Arrest in Omaha

A multi-state pursuit ended in Omaha with the arrest of two people.

The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) says troopers arrested the two following a pursuit that crossed into Nebraska from Iowa early Friday morning. Just before 12:30 Friday morning, the NSP was advised that the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a pickup truck that was approaching Nebraska on Interstate 480.

After the pursuit crossed into Nebraska from Iowa, troopers took over the pursuit as the suspect vehicle continued to flee. The pursuit eventually went northbound on Highway 75, where a trooper was able to perform a tactical vehicle intervention to stop the truck, about three minutes after NSP picked up the pursuit.

The driver, 45 year old Arnold Lane, of Omaha, and the passenger, 33 year old Tiffany Sackett, of Council Bluffs, were taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle, troopers located methamphetamine. Both Lane and Sackett were transported to the Nebraska Medical Center. Lane was medically cleared and booked into Douglas County Corrections for possession of a controlled substance, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, obstructing a peace officer and driving under suspension.

Sackett remained at Nebraska Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Charges against her are pending.
