Driver Found Dead Behind the Wheel of Vehicle was Stabbed Before Crash

A man who died behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle was stabbed shortly before crashing into a Bellevue home.

Bellevue Police say around 1:00 Wednesday morning, a resident in the 5000 block of Glasgow Avenue called police after confronting two men who were breaking into his car. The caller told police that he had stabbed one of the men during the confrontation before the pair fled the scene in a 2003 Infiniti. The man who was stabbed reportedly drove the getaway vehicle, which was later determined to be stolen.

Police say a short time later the suspect crashed the stolen Infiniti into a home in the 7600 block of 48th Street. The driver was found dead behind the wheel, the residents of the home did not report any injuries.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, but were not able to locate the second man that was in the vehicle.

The name of the driver has not yet been released, pending family notification.
