The COVID-19 coronavirus death toll continues to climb in Douglas County.
On Tuesday, the Douglas County Health Department reported the deaths of four men in their 60's and 70's, all with underlying health issues. Douglas County now has seen 14 deaths from the coronavirus outbreak.
Douglas County also added another six confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Tuesday's cases bring the total number of cases in the county to 305 since the start of the outbreak. The latest cases include three men and three women who range in age from 38 to 83. Three of the new cases had contact with a known case, two were community-acquired and one case remains under investigation. Two of the new cases have been hospitalized.
The DCHD says a detailed picture of COVID-19 in Douglas County can be found on their Douglas County COVID-19 Dashboard on the department’s homepage.
Health Director Dr. Adi Pour says the dashboard is updated daily around 3:00 PM. “The dashboard includes important demographic data, testing numbers and the number of individuals who have recovered."
As of Sunday night, local hospitals reported 628 medical surge beds were available and 43 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 401 ventilators available to area hospitals, 103 were in use, including 16 for confirmed COVID-19 patients
