Douglas County Reports Two More COVID-19 Deaths

The Douglas County Health Department announced two more COVID-19 coronavirus deaths on Monday.

The Health Department says the most recent coronavirus-related deaths are that of a man in his 40's and a man in his 70's, both of whom had underlying health issues.

The department also confirmed eleven new cases of COVID-19 in Douglas County, bringing the total number of cases in the county up to 299 since the start of the outbreak. The latest cases include six men and five women who range in age from 23 to 62. Seven of the new cases had contact with a known case, one was community-acquired and three cases remain under investigation. One of the new cases is hospitalized.

As of Sunday night, local hospitals reported that there are 598 medical surge beds available in the metro-area, with 33 patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 408 ventilators available to area hospitals, 101 are in use, including 17 for confirmed COVID-19 patients
