Two Are Hospitalized After North Omaha Collision

Omaha Police say speed and alcohol are being investigated as contributing factors in a two vehicle crash Friday night at 30th and Fort Streets.

Accident investigators say a westbound Chevrolet Avalanche was trying to turn southbound onto 30th when it was hit by a northbound Jeep that ran a red light.

The driver of the Avalanche, 50-year old Dana Sampson of Omaha, is hospitalized with serious injuries, and a passenger in his vehicle has minor injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, 36-year old Omar Antunez of Omaha, has minor injuries.

Police say charges are pending;

The intersection was closed for about four hours.
