The Douglas County Health Department reported new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus on Monday.
The Health Department confirmed 10 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, including seven cases that were received Sunday. These new cases involve five men and five women between 28 and 72 years of age. Five of the new cases had contact with a known case, two were community-acquired, one was travel-related and two remain under investigation. Three of the ten new cases have been hospitalized.
Douglas County has now confirmed 245 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the outbreak. There have been six coronavirus-related deaths in Douglas County and 17 statewide.
Hospital inventory as of Sunday evening indicated 599 medical surge beds are available with 38 patients hospitalized with coronavirus. Of the 392 ventilators available to area hospitals, 115 are in use, including 11 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
