Organizers of the Omaha Farmers Market say they are going to open a month later than normal due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"With recommendations from the Douglas County Health Department, the Market will open the first weekend in June rather than the traditional first weekend in May with extra safety measures and regulation guidelines put into place," a spokesperson said in a statement.
"The Market’s number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of vendors, market staff/volunteers, and customers."
The Omaha Farmers Market will continue to operate on Saturdays in the Old Market and Sundays in Aksarben Village, although the location in each district may change to accommodate social distancing requirements.
