Omaha Kroc Center Using Holiday Lights To Spread Hope During Pandemic

In an effort to spread hope and cheer during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the outside of the Salvation Army says the Kroc Center In south Omaha will be lit with thousands of holiday lights Monday night.

As staff from the Kroc Center flip the switch on the lights at 8:30, they’ll be encouraging the entire community to participate by turning on a porch light or hanging some extra lights outside their houses.

Due to social distancing protocols, this is not a public lighting ceremony. The effort will continue nightly from April 6 through Easter Sunday evening.  “The need for light and hope has never been greater across our country,” said Capt. says Captain John Gantner of the Kroc Center. "
