Omaha Police are searching for a woman they say left an infant in a box on a South Omaha front porch Monday morning.
Police say around 11:40 AM, a Hispanic female, approximately 20 years old, was seen putting a package on the front porch of a residence in the area of 15th and U streets. The residents of the home located a newborn infant inside the package and called police to the scene.
The woman was seen getting into the passenger seat of what is believed to be a black 2 door Pontiac, possibly G5 model, with dark tinted windows.
Officers are concerned for the health and well being of the mother and ask that any information that may lead to the identity of the mother be directed to the Omaha Police Department's Child Victims Unit at 402-444-5636 or Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
