Spring Yard Waste Collections Limited In Omaha

Omaha City officials say yard waste collection will be limited to four cans or sacks per household beginning Monday due to concerns about the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

The new limits will allow Waste Management to focus on garbage collection in case their workforce is impacted by the the virus.

In addition, the City says residents will be able to set out up to 5 containers of garbage. Trash cans must be 32-gallons or less and must not exceed 45 pounds. Clear plastic bags are limited to 40 pounds.

Recyclables can be placed in one or more City issued green recycling bins. Excess recyclables may be placed in paper grocery sacks or cardboard boxes that will be collected when placed out with the green recycling bin.

Yard waste trash cans must be marked with a YW. For more information, go to the city's solid waste website at www.wasteline.org
