Pottawattamie County Reports Two More Cases Of COVID-19

The Pottawattamie County Health Department says two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Council Bluffs

On Tuesday, the Health Department announced that a girl age 17 or younger and a woman age 41-60 had both tested positive for the virus.

The woman developed symptoms March 23rd, was tested on March 25th and has been self-isolating at home. Health department staff have been checking on the twice a day as personnel continued to investigate her prior contacts and exposure. This case is considered "low-risk" to the public.

The girl, who is also self-isolating at home, has no pre-existing medical conditions and had contact with an existing case.

The health department is investigating contacts related to this case and so far, the department has identified one exposure time and location: Westlake Hardware, 721 W. Broadway, Council Bluffs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The store has installed sneeze guards at the checkouts. This case is also considered very low-risk to the public.

There have been four positive cases of COVID-19 in Pottawattamie County.
