Food Bank For The Heartland Mobile Food Pantry Saturday

OMAHA, Nebraska - As more families and individuals across Nebraska and western Iowa struggle with the economic impact from COVID-19 coronavirus, many are having a difficult time putting food on the table.

The Food Bank for the Heartland is partnering with All Saints Episcopal Church and will hold a free drive-up mobile food pantry to help those in Douglas County and surrounding communities on Saturday, March 28th.

The Food Bank has packed more than 200 boxes with 28 pounds of nonperishable foods like pasta, sauce, rice, beans, peanut butter and canned fruits and vegetables. Fresh produce and bread will also be offered.

Due to the health and safety of others in the community, those attending the mobile pantry need to stay in their vehicles. They will be asked to open their trunk and volunteers will load the food into their vehicle. There are no requirements to attend.

All Saints Episcopal Church is located at 93rd and Blondo and the mobile food pantry will operate from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday.
