Sarpy County Sheriff's Deputies Delivering Food, Medicine

SARPY COUNTY, Nebraska - The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office has established a help line for the citizens of Sarpy County during the COVID-19 pandemic event.

Starting Friday, people who are sick, elderly, or caretakers in Sarpy County may call the Sarpy County Sheriff Helpline at 402-593-1593 for needs such as picking up prescriptions, groceries, or other necessities. A uniformed Sarpy County Sheriff’s Deputy will pick up and deliver those items in a marked police cruiser. This helpline may also be utilized by the general public to make a non-emergency police report via telephone.

When calling the helpline, give your name, address and phone number.Deputies will pick up items at certain locations. All groceries must be pre-ordered and pre-paid.When orders are ready, residents need to call the helpline and request a delivery.

Deputies will then leave the items at the resident’s door and remain at a distance until someone at the residence retrieves the items from the doorstep.

The helpline will be available for requests Monday-Friday from 8 am-4pm. Unless it is an emergency, requests received after 4pm will be addressed the following business day. The helpline is not a substitute for 911 and any threats to life or property should be directed to 911.

Providers for grocery/pharmacy needs participating in this program are as follows:

• All 5 Sarpy County Walgreens locations for pharmacy orders

• Walmart location at 72nd and Centennial in Papillion for pharmacy and grocery. .

• Target location at 84th and Centennial for groceries only.

• Baker’s location at 36th and Twin Creek Drive and 801 Galvin Rd for groceries and pharmacy.

• Springfield Drug for prescriptions only
