Bennington Public Schools Closed Friday

BENNINGTON, Nebraska -

The Bennington Public School District has canceled classes for Friday.

Superintendent Terry Haack sent this notice to parents on Thursday:

The Bennington Public School District has been actively monitoring the rapidly evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and providing regular updates to the Bennington community as the situation changes.

The health and safety of our community continues to be our primary concern in this fluid situation, and we are making decisions following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) along with state and county health departments. These decisions are being made to help mitigate and slow the spread of COVID-19 and to help protect the Bennington and greater Omaha community.

BPS will be closed Friday, March 13, 2020, for all staff and students. We will plan to make an announcement sometime on Friday regarding any additional disruption to the school calendar related to COVID-19.

It is important to note, we have no reports of confirmed cases in Bennington Public Schools. On behalf of Bennington Public Schools, we are appreciative of your patience, support and dedication as we work together to strategically address the challenges and opportunities associated with COVID-19.
