Nebraska State Fair Board Investigates Suspicious Financial Activity

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska - The Nebraska State Fair Board ran into some problems when they did an internal review of their finances. They discovered suspicious activity that calls for further investigation.

The Board contacted state agencies who are looking into the problem. The Board also hired a private firm to review their banking and financial transactions.

This investigation could take some time to complete and the Board is fully cooperating with those investigating. They are also monitoring the Fair's finances and will provide updates to the public.

The Board feels positive about the future of the Fair. New safeguards are being introduced and they are confident this investigation will have no negative effect on preparations for the 2020 Nebraska State Fair.
