Weather Conditions Again Combine To Raise The Risk Of Fires

Gusty, southerly winds combined with warmer temperatures, low humidity, and dry weather will again create dangerous conditions for grassfires across parts of Southeast Nebraska and Southwest into South Central Iowa today.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for counties on both sides of the Missouri River from noon until 6 PM. The warning includes the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro area and Lincoln.

With temperatures expected in the upper '60's to lower '70's, humidity below 20 percent, and wind gusts around 35 MPH, forecasters say any grassfires will be hard to control.
