Man Accidentally Released From Jail Is Back Behind Bars

OMAHA, Nebraska - A man accidentally released from the Douglas County Jail is back behind bars.

In December, Jacob Brun was arrested after running from federal agents during a drug raid last December and rammed an undercover cruiser. The FBI found Brun was in possession of a handgun when he was arrested.

6 News reports that Brun was serving a short sentence in the Douglas County Jail in connection to a different case prior to the federal charges. Corrections didn't get the paperwork that Brun was on hold and he was released by mistake.

A Douglas County Sheriff's SWAT team arrested Brun and a woman in northwest Omaha Friday morning without incident. 33 year old Nichole Corcoran was booked for being an accessory to a felony and on drug charges.

Mike Myers is the director of Douglas County Corrections and says they usually receive paperwork from federal authorities to hold a prisoner so this is a rare case.

6 News reports they called the federal marshals who said the case is being looked into.
