The Number Of People Monitored For Coronavirus In Omaha Is Now 8

OMAHA, Nebraska - UNMC/Nebraska Medicine reports that eight of the 15 Americans from the Diamond Princess Cruise ship remain in Omaha. One person was cleared on Wednesday and left the hospital Thursday morning.

Seven people remain in the National Quarantine Unit and one is being treated in the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit.

A second participant has enrolled in the UNMC clinical trial of an experimental treatment for coronavirus. That trial is led by Dr. Andre Kalil and is sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases that is part of the National Institutes of Health.
