Fremont, Nebraska - Flooding from an ice jam on the Platte River has been spilling onto roads in the Fremont area, at one point threatening more than 30 homes.
The Nebraska State Patrol is sharing a drone video of the ice jam, shot south of Fremont Tuesday.
Emergency managers, hydrologists and meteorologists have been looking ahead to possible flooding again this spring. There are heavy snow packs up north, which will send a large amount of runoff downriver. The flooding last weekend was caused by large chunks of ice breaking up and jamming on the Platte River, at one point caught on bridge piers and backing up water in the Fremont area.
We'll have flood information throughout the season in our newscasts and talk shows on NewsRadio 1110 KFAB.
