Arctic Blast Arrives Wednesday Afternoon

Another mild day will quickly take a turn for the worse Wednesday afternoon as a strong cold front barrels in.

First Alert Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord says we'll climb into the mid 40's by the middle of the afternoon as the clouds start to fill in.

He says a strong front will roll through between 3-5 p.m. and brings the nice weather to a halt.

Strong north winds will gust to 45 mph once that front comes through dragging in some rapidly cooling air. Rusty says we'll fall from the mid 40's at 3 p.m. to the mid teens by 7 p.m.

Wind chills will drop below zero pretty and stay there into Thursday morning. There is a Wind Chill Advisory in place through Thursday morning as those wind chills could dip as low as -25 degrees. Air temps will dip below zero Thursday morning as well.

Rusty says there is a little light precipitation possible along that front from 3-5 p.m. as well. It would be a little light rain to snow then possibly a few more light snow showers through 8 p.m. in the area.

Overall, less than a half inch of snow is possible but it could lead to slick roads as the temps fall. 30's return to the forecast Friday and it will be in the 40s to near 50 over the weekend!
