LINCOLN, Nebraska - A list of charges goes on and on for a man arrested Sunday in Lincoln. Just before 4 p.m., the Narcotics Task Force spotted a car reported stolen on January 30th. Authorities knew the driver was William Moore. Police were called and started following that car but Moore took off, driving recklessly through several neighborhoods before stopping near 1st and Adams.
More officers were called for backup Moore stopped, got out and ran, throwing items as he went. Police say they found a syringe that tested positive for meth. They also founded the key to the stolen vehicle. Waged in the driver's seat was a knife with a 5 1/2 inch blade. Moore has prior convictions and is not allowed to have weapons.
During that short time that Moore was on the run, he apparently tried to hide from police he broke into a house. The residents were home and were extremely alarmed and disturbed by his uninvited entrance.
Moore was also found to have a local warrant for flee to avoid arrest and an out of county warrant.
Totaling up all the charges, Moore was arrested for:
Possess a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, Class 3 Felony
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Class 4 Felony
Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Class 4 Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, infraction, Resisting Arrest, Class 1 Misdemeanor
Obstructing Government Operations, Class 1 Misdemeanor
Trespassing, Class 1 Misdemeanor
Disturbing the Peace, Class 3 Misdemeanor
Willful Reckless Driving, Class 3 Misdemeanor
Driving While Suspended, Class 3 Misdemeanor
Theft by Receiving, Class 1 Misdemeanor
Two outstanding warrants
