WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Senator Ben Sasse's guest at the State of the Union address is Rachel Wilke of Columbus. Rachel is the wife of Nebraska hero, James Wilke who perished while rescuing a driver stranded in the floodwaters last March.
Sasse says, "Rachel Wilke is an incredible Nebraskan. I'm humbled to spend time with her before tonight's State of the Union. Her husband was a Nebraska hero and I want my kids to learn from James' selflessness and Rachel's courage. They really are the best this state has to offer and I am glad that Rachel is Nebraska's ambassador to the rest of the country tonight."
